Bertera Nissan News

And why hello there again..  ;)

Well I have told you about some renovations going on here.. And there still going on but getting closer and closer to a finished project. The Christmas Tree went up this am. :) Time to bring in the Christmas cheer after the meals had by all last week. This would be another one of my favorite times of year. I know I try to see and hear from family throughout the year.. Be it cookouts, get togethers, or what ever reason... But for some reason Christmas parties always seem to get the best turnouts..  Well for my family at least. But in general from what I hear it seems people make that little extra effort this time of year. And that is the best part! So from us here at Bertera Nissan.. HAPPY HOLIDAYS to you and yours!

Bertera Nissan is doing some remodeling and additions! To people who know the area across the street from Bertera Nissan in Auburn Mass was a run down motel. See pic.

Well Bertera Nissan has purchased the land and is in the process of expanding our lot. We will need this area for our Commercial Line as we are approved from Nissan to carry and service these vehicles once they are available. http://www.nissancommercialvehicles.com/vehicles For more on the NV2500 Concept.

But it is an exciting time here with the holidays an all.  We have some brand new 42' TV's in the showroom (4 to be exact) for your viewing pleasure. Sunday and the games on.. Well its on here as well! We also just brought in a new vendor for our vending machines.  Remember when a soda was .65 cents.. Well guess what!?!  Its .65 Cents here NOW!  Coke, Mountain Dew... Just to name a few. Times are changing and we plan to change for the better. What ever we can do for you... WE WILL. Coffee is still the whopping price of FREE. ;) Even makes it one cup at a time. So its never that bottom/stale last cup. Its always a fresh new one just for you.

And in Nissan News...  New "BLACK FRIDAY HOLIDAY BONUS CUSTOMER CASH" is available on the Altima and Maxima!

* Altima now has $4,000 in rebates available on the 09 Hybrid, $2,750 on the 2010.

* Altima now has $2,250 in rebates available on the 09 Coupe, $1,000 on the 2010.

* Altima now has $2,250 in rebates available on the 09 Sedan, $1,000 on the 2010.

* Maxima now has $2,250 in rebates available on the 09, $1,750 on the 2010.

Also..  If you plan to use the special finance rates available....  You can still use $500 customer cash on the Altima and $1,000 on the Maxima. For either year.

I am annoucing these items as they were released yesterday and are only good until the end of this month. Nissan knows that this is the best time to reach out to customers and is doing just that!

STILL UNDER CONSTRUCTION...  Now isn't any business? Advertising, Marketing, Products are always changing. We are just also changing our landscape. :)

Here is a pic of what Bertera Nissan expansion lot looks like today..

These first two photos are on our main lot where we are adding spots for our customers.

These are the lot across the street as it sits today. Very close to the final stages. Cant wait until its paved!

We are open during these projects and continue to change and grow everyday. Working to meet every need and expectation of our customers. It really is a simple rule. As are so many in our lives. And this post was about our work lives here. I do not normally post about work so it was a bit different for me. ;)

Hope your all having a great day! And if your looking for a New Nissan or Pre-owned car.. I hope you give us a try. You will be pleasantly surprised  :)

A New Year here at Bertera Nissan

Why Hello Again,

Yes I know it is not New Years just yet.. But another year has passed for myself. Yes a birthday. ;)  And I have taken a couple moments to reflect on years past. Well this one in fact for the most part. No I am not going to reveal my age.. haha! I will say it was not a, how do you say, quinte centennial or even 0's of any decent. You know... 20,30,40, or so on.. But just in fact a year has past. An anniversary of my birth into this world. And for that I am grateful. That and a long list of other things as well.

But my knowledge of what this Reputation Management and Social Media is finally coming into the light. ;)
Now I know it has been awhile since my last post and for that I am sorry.. I have been busy here at Bertera Nissan. Creating and working and working and creating. One of my projects is a wordpress blog. Now I was recommended this by who I consider one of the top writers/bloggers/seo people out there. I mean this guy knows it all. I credit him for most of the things I do know to date on these subjects. Even if it was not direct contact with him it was from a piece he has written and I have read. I would say he is... A guru in this field.

And the fun fact is most of us that do this (social media) have not a clue that we do it on a daily basis. There is a great article on this here. Most of us have our Facebook or Myspace or even a blog or 2 you write. Some even use Twitter as a way to connect with others in the world. And even if you do not write a blog, some comment on others that you may read. I have not gotten to the point where I get allot of comments but people do tell me they read my blogs and other things I write. And for me... that's a personal WIN!  I mean in all... Social media is just a way of sharing what we think is cool or interesting. A way of sharing that with others. Face it.. If I think something is worth taking the time to show or tell about... There must be someone out there that may also think that piece (what ever it may be) is worth taking a look at. (or at least I hope!)  ;)  And also to say.. HEY THIS IS ME.   Anyone that knows me knows I write more toward the positive side of the spectrum.  Or in a way motivational pieces. (when I write. haha)  Because I do believe emotion can run our life. So grab a hold of them! I smile allot.. I mean A-LOT.  Because I choose to. And also because when I receive one back I know that it made me feel good.. And I hope it did the same for the participant. A smile is like a hug without actually having to touch a stranger. HAHAHA.  Cause that would probably get you into trouble. Well now that I am completely off my original topic we will switch gears again....

Reputation Management as it has been deemed...  Is also a huge part of business. If your not in it. I urge you to get involved. Now this piece is more aimed at businesses. Owners and likewise.. I read earlier that even if you never intend to have a twitter or use it.. Sign your company name up. Put up 1 tweet with a link to your business site. I read this and thought, Wow... SO TRUE. Not that tweets fix your reputation in any way but if you do not have the account anyone can sign up as you and say what ever they want. So in a round about way yes this could save you down the road. Now I see an onslaught of review sites popping up every where. We have our own! http://www.berteranissanreviews.com/ and we are on a couple of others.  There are even company that will out right try and rip you off.  Take ripoff.com for instance. You get a bad review there.. Whether it be a fake or not and they want actual hard earned cash to remove it. and guess what.. You will have another as soon as that's gone. I cant speak loud enough when I say check your sources. Even if its a review site. Why not google them and see what others say about a site.  http://www.dealerrater.com/ is a great one from what I can see. Googled and all... Now what is reputation management really...  Taking the next step. Not just putting your self out there everywhere and hanging it up. Actually engaging you customers. I know for a matter of fact that not all consumers are happy. Even when they get what they want. But what do you do... This is where it really comes into play.  Lets play a little here..   Someone comes into your business and you can not come to an agreement for a product. Your customer leaves and is angry... but doesn't say a word. Just leaves. (these are the ones that worry me)  But goes home and finds you are listed on one of these review sites and T's off.  schaaaaaawing!!!  Here is your point of no return! You either say oh well and move on..  (HUGE MISTAKE) or.. Dive into this head first and not in any pushy or aggravated (remember we are all human) or agitated way. Try to come to terms with the consumer that works for everyone. And even if there is no way that a deal can happen or a common ground can be achieved. This is where your real reputation comes in...  Did you really put yourself out there for your customer? I know I will! And I want each and every person I come across to know this. HANDS DOWN. If I can.. I WILL. We are all in some way servicing our customers. I don't care if your an IT professional, Car Salesman, Chef, so on and so forth...  We all need to take a sense of pride in what we do.  And that is our/yours/mine to own.  REPUTATION.

So for anyone out there... I want to hear from you all. The good AND the bad... If we do not know about it. We can not do anything about it. And I want to...  Do whatever I can for all of you.

Well that is all for today... Live well and live long!   Or as its is said at my house... Live, Love, Laugh!

Thanks for reading and keep smiling!

Cash for Clunkers now in the Past?

Hey there!

So from the consumers point of view here the cash for clunkers is in the past... Right? Well for them yes it is. Now its the dealers turn for the games to begin... To start collecting from the government.. I will say that at our dealership we have started to get the approvals for payment to start trickling in.. And that's a GOOD thing! there is allot (yes ALOT) of money tied up in this.. But looks like it will all work out in the end. So my question is... WHAT NOW? I am definitely not into politics the way some people out there are.. But so when do we start paying back this money borrowed for this program.. And all the other bailouts... And if I heard right... Obama is now at an all but record low approval rating. If he has not hit a record low yet? I know for a fact I heard him speak of "Change" but man... I didn't know his idea was to borrow and spend more than any other president to date. And yes with another record.. Time will tell. That's all I know on that.

So with the program over as of last night at 8 its back to business as normal? I for one really hope so. I have seen and heard all of these bailouts.. Programs... And whatnot's.. Well I hope there is a plan in place to actually fix whats wrong. And get this country back on track. Are we not America.. Land of the free and brave! Lets figure out what we need to do... AND DO IT. Not a simple band-aid or quick fix. A real solution would be nice. Or so I think it would. ;)

For us here it is not really business as usual. Our server crashed yesterday and is out for repairs.. And let me tell you. You don't know how much you need a piece this important until you do not have it. With this item being our main focal point for all computers and the only piece that will tell the other computers that it is no longer there.. Man that was tricky. We are working with a skeleton of computers that will do one thing or the other at the moment. You can either access our internal work environment or the outside world and the web. But not both... Yea this is fun. Just gives a quick reality slap of how much we rely on items we do not give much thought... There just there and we use them. Never to think of the back up plan until its needed. But that seems to be the plan for all things. Don't mess with it if it is not broken. But when it does.. Watch out! Your in for one hell of a ride.

And in some cases we all love the ride.. Hey there are some good ones out there. I myself love to take my Harley out for one as often as possible. I also enjoy (yes I do) the one all New England sports teams take us. Red Sox, Patriots, Bruins, and so on... They do it to us every year and for some we love it! Its not always about the destination... More the journey. So enjoy the "RIDE!"

Over and out!

Cash for Clunkers program could ruin dealers!

Hello again,

This is a little rant I wrote on the Cash for Clunkers page.

You can read it HERE on there page designed for "Dealers who break the rules page"

"This is a heartfelt apology to the consumers out there… Because in all you are the ones that are suffering over this program. Its it a great idea YES. Was it ran as smoothly as possible. APSOLUTLY NOT! But it is not the dealers fault. And still is not. We all go to work every day to get paid.. Would you let $3,500 or $4,500 walk out the door not knowing if you are on the hook for it? Never mind that there are dealers with 30-40 of these cars sold. So if that dealer sold 40 of these cars and the government rejects these deals… What is it to do. Pay the $180,000.00?? No it would have to close its doors. And all the government seems to be doing is pointing fingers at dealers… I work at one. We have just about go out of the ruts of the older days in having a bad name. Why are they trying to put the blame on us??? This is not our program. Not our money… If they had a proper plan in place from the get go this would of been much better program. I am very happy that they are doing something. But.. There is no guarantee the dealer does get paid. I have seen several of these deals get rejected. And if it is a paperwork issue. (mind you we were not told what format to send the paperwork in) it goes back to the beginning stage. So submit paperwork… wait 10 days… find out your rejected because something didn’t send to them. And its not as simple as send that piece.. It is start over. I am just saying.. All in all…. That as is the dealer should be able to wait until it is funded. Just like any other deal. If there is a college grad rebate in a deal what happens? The deal is not approved until the bank contacts the college and confirms all is good. SO why is this different? Why should dealers put there money on the line for a government program. Mind you. As a dealer. We are not GM, Nissan, Ford, Toyota. We are franchises owned by people who have built up there business. I am sorry for this huge rant.. But I do not want to see this ruin reputations of dealers that have fought long and hard to get there good reputations."

Now to further my rant.. This really really upsets me... (if you couldn't already tell...) To think that (and I did) this program is running down the road and the gov is once again pointing fingers at us. (the dealers) Why didn't they use there very large database. That they do have! And find consumers that were driving cars for over a year that qualify for this program and send them the vouchers.... Buy a new car with 5 mpg better get $3,500... Buy one with 10mpg better and get $4,500. Then its guaranteed. Not leaving the blame or the burden of loosing money on the dealer.. Oh wait... to protect themselves.... Yes I see it. Clear as a bell. Because why put all those people to action. Put the program out there.. Make all the rules.. But not be the one accountable or really in charge. MAN!!!!!! This KILLS ME.. Is this really what our government is all about???? And now they are putting to press that the dealers can not wait to get funded. We have to do the deal and register the cars... Before they ok the deal?? What???? How in the world does that make sense. So if they say NO. We loose? Its not our program.. Its YOURS! One of my favorite quotes... ""No ticky... No laundry!" In other words... If there not willing to guaranty the money to us. Why would we use it as cash. And there are Dealers out there trying best they can to protect themselves. Yes if a customer demands to have they car. They should be responsible if the $4,500 is not paid by the government. Or wait til its approved... You are getting $4,500 for a car that's in most cases not worth it... Right? So why not wait til you can get that money for it? Do you get the discount at the grocery store with out the coupon? NO.. Do you get to use any money from the government without waiting.... NO! So why do the dealers have to put up there cash. (if they have it to cover it) For a Government program. I do not see the sense in this.. From the dealers view. Oh man does it make sense from the government.. There the HERO.... Here is your new car... Here is some funny money for it.. (that we WILL have to pay for at some point) oh and wait.. Rules changed again. This one doesn't qualify. But Oh well.. said dealer will pay for that... All good.. RIGHT???? WRONG!

I cant (or I could) go on and on... I just hope at the end of the day when the smoke clears.. That dealers like us or anyone out there do not get blamed or punished for a gov run program.

Do I think this program can work.. YES. People just have to be patience. And I hope that all parties can agree on that. :)

Thanks again for reading..

Random Thoughts for Today

Hello again,

Summer finally seems like it is here and I know I LOVE it! With the beginning of every month at your Nissan Dealer Worcester  it seems the race is on to the end. We just had a great month and will do everything we can do do the same this month. (OR BETTER!) It is just as in anything in this life. A "cycle." Now whether your goals are further away like say 10 years.. When that time is up and your goal is met its time to start it over. Some goals are set for a year or even a month.. But you can start small and say whats my goal for today?? You would be surprised at your ending if you chose this path. We have a month to do what we need to here at Bertera Nissan. But what if there was no such thing as procrastination in day to day activities even in your life. How much more would be done. Or how much closer would you get to your goal before its actual deadline? And do not get me wrong here.. My point is simple and not along the lines of we waste time or we're lazy.. Just a different aspect from what is considered the norm for most. We are given a week.. month, year, and sometimes even more to achieve what is considered a "goal." Why not wake up get ready and say what can I do for this today. Set and do what we set out to for that day. The only way to chop down a tree is one swing at a time. And over and over until the job is done. So take your swing daily! We all know what we need to do. Day in and day out. Change it up just a little make it fun and you will probably get that little extra swing done without even noticing.

I learned a little acronym a long time ago from a friend that I think we all should know. P.M.A= Positive Mental Attitude! We all know a smile is contagious. right??? If not try smiling at a stranger and see what happens.. Yup you guessed it. They smiled back. Or even do it to someone you know. Well not a creepy smile cause you might not get one back. Or they might think your up to something.. Well you are.. lol. It is the same with your attitude. If its positive it rubs off. Same with the other side. We will call it the dark-side for conversation sake. Now if you choose PMA and step out of the house in the am or even better get out of bed with it your day just might seem a bit brighter. The nag through out your day might not be as bad or might even have some PMA rub off on it. There are those who just choose to be grumpy... So be it. It is a choice you know. An its your choice to choose PMA or the dark side. What will you choose?? I asked in another piece I wrote for you to pick a person and appreciate them. Today I am asking for you to pick you. Give yourself a little bit of love and love yourself for doing it. That's the truth behind PMA. So give it a whirl.. get up look in the mirror and say today is my day. Give it a "ROAR!" lol. No I don't do that but sounded good. :)

It always comes to this closing part where I get lost for words.. Have I said enough... Or to little.. Do you think I got my message across... Well that's just it. Its not all about what I write but what you take from it. Interpretation per say. It is not always what someone is trying to write or say with there words. Three people can read the same thing and get three completely different messages from it. Some just read the story. Some will look for a message in it. And some will try to see what the person writing it wrote it for. Now hows that for crazy.. LOL. Yes these are the things I think of when writing or reading. But I aim for all... There's your secret for the day about me. HAHA! Well I hope your having that great day as you should!

Smile! You never know who is watching... ;)

If you plan to Choose a Nissan be sure to let us know!

WOW!!! About all I can say. In these tough times we just pulled off third in our region in sales. I completely and thoroughly thank each and every one of you. Just to think of all the negativity that is out there and that we are continuing to grow is fantastic! We are starting off June as we speak and I will be putting up some specials on our website very soon. What a way to start! Talk about that great feeling inside. And in all... Thanks to you! Putting the word out and getting people to our very showroom.

Now its time to put our heads down and start the race all over again. In hopes to do it all over again or even place better! Seems Nissan is having the same thoughts as a lot of there rebates and financing options have stayed the same. Some changes but for the most part they are right on track with last month, if you want more details on that just ask. But this is more for a celebration. A toast with a cup raised towards you. As we have MADE IT! And you are the reason. So I am just taking a moment to say we appreciate it. Very much!

I hope you are having as great a day as we are. Thank you over and over for your business and continued support.
